Filmes de Abril is a cinema, video and theater production company , founded in 2005. It has released its first short movie in 35mm, “Pages of a Girl”, directed by Monica Palazzo starring Vera Zimermann and Tieza Tissi. It also released the short short movie "Amor Caliente" by Rodrigo Diaz Diaz (2nd place in the QuickFlick Festival in São Paulo, March, 2008 and winner of the 1st Festival Internacional de Filmes Curtíssimos, hosted in Brasília – DF).
Still in motion pictures, Filmes de Abril is raising funds for "Urbanus sp", documentary on sustainable development in big cities and post producing "Variante E", documentary about a train line in Sao Paulo.
In theater, the company won the Myriam Muniz/FUNARTE contest in 2006 with the play “Santidade" (Sanctity) directed by Marcelo Drummond, starring Zé Celso on the stage of Teatro Oficina, in Sao Paulo. Also produced "Minha Mãe", (My Mother) by Elzemann Neves based on the works of Georges Bataille, co-directed by Inês Aranha, starring Bia Toledo.
